On my resolutions:
1. X. I missed Econ lecture this morning :( I slept soooo late last night and still had work to do in the morning, so I skipped it :( But I will will WILL catch up. Besides, I've already printed and gone over the slides Professor Eudey was supposed to have discussed today, so I think I'm safe. I just need to make sure this doesn't become a habit.
2. Can't put an X or a check, but I think I'm still on the right track for this one.
3. Still a check! Worry when that (check) goes away.
4. X. I haven't been reading the gospel or the news! I still do my daily evaluations, but garrrr.... I need to make time for news and bible reading. Just to, you know, keep things in perspective. I still go to mass though, so yay for that.
5. I haven't actually stepped on a scale, so I don't know how close I am to reaching my goal, but my pants do feel less tight so HALF CHECK! :)
2 Xs, 2 checks, one hanging in the balance. Noooot a good score. But I've got time to bring it up!

What happens when the snow falls
You walk outside, breathe in, feel the cold on your skin, and exhale a swirl of smoke that makes you smile and want to keep on breathing.
On the other hand, you get suuuper tamad to walk 2 blocks over and 1 block down to the gym. Oh, and your hair freezes. (Note to self: do not leave building right after shower, when hair is still wet. It WILL freeze and clump together into a messy mass. Dry, dishevelled look unescapable.)
Also, you lose all desire to go out at night when it starts getting dark at 5pm. (Dinners downtown? Forget it. Frat parties across the street? Uhmm... Movie night in my room, anyone?) You leave your room only when absolutely necessary (i.e. to go to class; to go to Student Health -- and only if you're really, really sick; to buy food when you're tired of the downstairs food express; or to buy supplies when you've run out, your hallmates have run out and makeshift supplies will no longer do).
You spend inordinate amounts of time on the internet. (Facebook will ruin me, I swear.)
You write journal entries (like this) much more frequently.
And to THINK I've got a couple more months of winter to go!

Vigor
A new semester begins, and I am once again filled with the excitement of anticipation and wonder. I'm quite hopeful about this year, and no matter how things play out I've promised myself to take everything in stride, chin up and guns blazing. On a more proactive note, I've also come up with a few resolutions (though the way I wrote them, looks more like a hastily written to-do list).
1. Do NOT miss classes just because I'm sleepy. TAs do give surprise quizzes.
2. Work for an A in at least 3 of my 5 classes, and get no lower than an A- in each one.
3. NO RANDOM HOOKUPS.
4. Daily must-haves: gospel, news and night-time evaluation.
5. Lose 10 pounds.
Some need no explanation, others I would rather not explain, and the prospects for most are pretty bright. :)
The new year took off well -- I hit the ground running, and I don't intend to stop.
